Who Are We?
There are people who want to save the world and there are people who want great personal success. Nowadays most of us want to try and do both. Beyond Profit is the place to find out how to achieve this.
Our mission is to inspire and support students to make the world a better place through their career or through entrepreneurship. Our success is based on helping students to get their ideal jobs and to turn their ideas into businesses.
Whether you are interested in social business, international development, the environment, or just think you should be doing something good, Beyond Profit is a great place to find out more.
What are our next events?
Enterprise Stream – Event 2 – “Scaling your social enterprise” Thursday, 23rd February, 7pm
Lecture Room (LR) 6, Department of Engineering, first floor
The aim of this event will be to answer the question: “How do I scale my social enterprise once it’s running?” One common problem faced by social entrepreneurs is taking the steps from local to national to global once their enterprise is running. With a talk by Nick Sireau (AKU Society and SolarAid, Ashoka Fellow), this event will give participants the opportunity to ask for advice from a highly experienced serial social entrepreneur.
Having founded SolarAid and now being Chairman of the AKU Society, Nick Sireau is a successful social entrepreneur and an Ashoka Fellow from Cambridge. Ashoka is the global association of the world’s leading social entrepreneurs—men and women with system changing solutions for the world’s most urgent social problems.

The format of the evening will be a 45-minute talk by Nick, followed by a plenary discussion and drinks and nibbles (provided).
Enterprise Stream – Event 3 – “Social enterprise networking event”, Monday, 5th March, 7:45pm
Lecture Room (LR) 6, Department of Engineering, first floor
The aim of this event is to bring together both (aspiring) student social entrepreneurs and local, social enterprise actors. It will provide an opportunity to mingle, share ideas, publicize projects and look for support in pursuing new or ongoing social enterprise initiatives.
This year, there is a special offer of 5 free places at a training session in business networking. This session is part of a socially-oriented Business Course coordinated by Beyond Profit. The training session will take place in the Judge Business School (a short walk from the Engineering Dept.) from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. As the number of places is limited, they will be given out on a first come first serve basis.
If you plan on attending the event, please RSVP to community@cambridgehub.org. Please also indicate whether or not you require table space to display publicity material.
